What’s in the file

Overview
Your net worth in large type, what you own and owe, and a breakdown by type with each one’s share.
Items
One row per account, loan or possession, with dropdowns for the kind and type. Add as many rows as you need.
History
One row per month and a line chart, so you can see the trend.
How to use
The steps on this page, in the file itself.

How to use it

  1. Replace the example rows with what you own and what you owe. Enter debts as positive amounts; the spreadsheet subtracts them.
  2. Use today’s values: what your home would sell for, what’s left on your mortgage, what your investments are worth now.
  3. Read your net worth on the overview.
  4. Once a month, update the values and note the new total on the history sheet.

Not sure what to include? Here’s how to value your home, pension, car and loans.

Yes. Both open .xlsx files, formulas included.

Is it really free?

Yes. There’s no sign-up and no email address needed. Use it, change it and share it as you like.
